UCC Collaboration with May Quaid

We are very fortunate to be able to collaborate again this year with UCC's Creative Writing MA Work Experience Programme. In 2023 we will be joined by student May Quaid who will assist the HOWL team to gain hands-on experience in the publishing industry. Last year we worked with students Susan Lea Bailey and Caleb Cotter, both graduates now, and were impressed with their professionalism and contribution to HOWL '23.

We asked May for a few words by way of introduction:

"I am writer from the USA who moved to Ireland just last year. Previously, I studied and worked in France teaching English. I like to write fiction, especially stories that include queer characters. I have drafted a novel based on Irish fae folklore and am currently working on a novel based on a modern retelling of Carmilla. I liked to read, write, travel, and journal. I document all this often on my social media and use them as creative outlets."

Welcome to the team, May!
