HOWL 26 Subs Open Soon

We’re delighted to announce that submissions for HOWL 26 will open from February 13 to February 23.

We’ll be accepting poetry, fiction, and nonfiction for our next collection of New Irish Writing.

HOWL opens for submissions once every two years, and each window feels like a small event in itself. Each submission window is true joy for us knowing that work is being sent to us from kitchens, desks, notebooks, phones, train journeys, late nights, early mornings. We can’t wait to read what you’ve been writing.

HOWL 26 will continue our commitment to publishing strong, thoughtful, carefully curated new writing from across Ireland and from Irish diaspora abroad. As always, we’re looking for work that feels necessary, that takes risks, pays attention, and stays with the reader.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll also be sharing more about the shape of this edition, including the announcement of our 2026 Irish-language editor, along with some additions to to HOWL 26 team.

Full submission guidelines will be available when the window opens, so keep an eye on the site and our social channels for updates.

For now: mark the dates, dust off the drafts, and know that we’re really looking forward to meeting your work.
