HOWL 26 Team Additions

We’re delighted to share some very good news: Molly Twomey and Gunnhildur Jónatansdóttir are joining the HOWL 26 team working on English language poetry and fiction.

Both are writers whose work and presence are important to the literary life of Cork, Ireland, and beyond. We’re grateful to have them reading alongside us, contributing their insight, and helping to shape HOWL 26.

Molly Twomey grew up in Lismore, County Waterford, and now lives in Cork. She has two poetry collections published by the Gallery Press: Raised Among Vultures (2022) and Chic to be Sad (2025), supported by bursaries from the Arts Council. She is a PhD Excellence Scholar at University College Cork, and is a vital and generous presence in Ireland’s contemporary poetry scene. Alongside her own practice, she is widely respected for her generosity as a reader and her commitment to supporting new work.

Gunnhildur Jónatansdóttir is a writer and translator from Reykjavík, Iceland, whose lifelong love affair with Cork began in 2012. Her short stories and translations have appeared in various journals and anthologies and, most recently, she has been translating the novels of Shirley Jackson and Ágota Kristóf with Við höfum alltaf átt heima í kastalanum published in 2025. Gunnhildur’s work moves fluently across languages and forms, bringing a sharp international perspective and a deep sensitivity to voice, tone, and atmosphere.

HOWL is made through collaboration and careful reading. We’re excited to have Molly and Gunnhildur joining that process, bringing their experience and perspective to HOWL 26.
